Fantasy Football Week 7; Waiver Wire Advice, PLEASE! | SportsChat

Fantasy Football Week 7, Waiver Wire Advice, PLEASE!

“You Tell, Me Big Shot”is a new concept in Fantasy Football blogging. I am not here to tell you my opinion. The premise is that the media supplies us with endless amounts of statistical information, but the opinions of the “experts” don’t seem to be worth more than yours. So I don’t want to tell you what to do. I want the wisdom of the masses to help me make my decisions. Look, I am sure that I know ten times more than you about Fantasy Football. But I am sure that you think you know 100 times more than me. So instead of me presenting my opinion and you telling me what a douche I am, let us put our minds together and help each other out. I ask my question about sits and starts. You post your answers. Simple.  And in the process, we prove once again that the wisdom of the masses will always be more reliable than that of the work drunk literati.

Steve Breaston or Marshawn Lynch? That’s what it comes down to once bye weeks are in full effect. Pitbull’s Revenge is currently 5-1, but we are getting slammed by byes this week. I picked Steve Breaston up off of waivers, and I have a good feeling about him. He has been a 1000 yard receiver in the NFL before, this is the first year of his career he is not being asked to handle kick return responsibilities and he can spread the field out with speed. Not to mention, KC has been airing it out okay their last two outings. In his last two games, Breaston has recorded a 50 yard two touchdown performance and 91 yard effort. Those are respectable WR3/Flex numbers when byes swarm your team like so many piranhas.

I have been offered Marshawn Lynch straight up for Steve Breaston. Lynch has been disappointing this year, and he is facing the Cleveland Browns this week. On the surface this sounds like a good match-up because of Cleveland’s 27th ranked defense. But the Browns’s opponents points against rank for WR’s in our league is actually 23. Nothing worth writing a blog about.

But Lynch does face St. Louis in week 11, and they have been getting worked by running backs all year. I desperately need a warm body at running back for week 11, Not to mention, I hate to have to many Kansas City eggs in my Pitbull basket this weekend. Dwayne Bowe is one of my squad’s stars.

Breaston has Oakland this Sunday, and I probably would not play him in week 11 unless he continues his current rate of  success. LT is also available in my league, and he has more points than Lynch so far. LT faces Denver in week 11, which has not been generous to running backs in my league, but they have been rolling over for WR’s.LT gets 90%+ of his points through the air.  I have a kicker and defense to cut and the #2 Waiver Wire position this week.

Finally, Breaston is coming off a bye week.

I think I should stand pat, hope for the best with Breaston this week and then roll the dice on the waiver wire.

What do you think?
