Shoulda Ducked, Sooner The upset loss Oklahoma State suffered Friday night simultaneously knocked the Cowboys from the ranks of the unbeaten and pulled both Oregon and Oklahoma right back into the BcS title mix. So, what do both teams go and do less than 24 hours later? Slap the gift horse in the mouth. Hard. Instead of remaining one of the gaggle of one-loss teams hoping for additional carnage that could land them in New Orleans in January, the Ducks and Sooners now find themselves with two losses and zero chance of even being on the periphery of the title talk. Probably.

Why Kansas City Chiefs Started Winning, and Dolphins Continue to 'Suck for Luck'
Meanwhile Miami would lose to San Diego, but lose much more, as quarterback Chad Henne would separate his non-throwing shoulder and get placed on injured reserve.
Since then the Chiefs have been hot, as they've won four straight to go from 0-3 to 4-3. Where at first, the thought was that Todd Haley was on the hot seat and the Chiefs were thinking "Suck For Luck," now Haley is a Coach of the Year candidate and Kansas City is thinking of their second consecutive AFC West title.

SEC Expansion: Big Ten Says It's Happy Where It Is
If the SEC does indeed expand by inviting Texas A&M and a 14th team -- Clemson? Missouri? Florida State? -- you have to believe the Big Ten would follow by adding two more teams as well, right?
Not so fast my friend, as Lee Corso might say.
Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany told the Chicago Tribune's Teddy Greenstein that all is well in the land of three yards and a cloud of dust, and that expansion is not in the cards at the moment.

Desmond Howard
has done on the field. Very few, to be exact. After all, being only one of four players to win a Heisman Trophy and Super Bowl MVP is pretty rarefied territory. Nowadays, the originator of " The Heisman Pose " provides football insight as an analyst for ESPN College Gameday , and more recently, as the author of his autobiography, I Wore 21: The Legend of Desmond Howard . During the ESPN College Gameday media event in New York City, we spoke with the football great turned analyst about his greatest college and NFL memories, and his hilarious behind-the-scenes moments with Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit.

He was best known as an FSU athletics director who got the Seminoles on the road to sports respectability. Before that, though, among other things he was one of Alabama’s all-time great football players.

College Football: Top 50 Gifts Santa Is Delivering This Season
Perhaps, a revision is necessary to address the needs of many programs throughout the FBS.
"Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the program, not a player was stirring, not even a coach."
OK—that was weak.
Do you believe in Santa Claus? I bet most, if not all, of the head coaches, fans, and athletic directors in the FBS hope that St. Nicholas comes down the chimney on Christmas Day to deliver presents for their beloved teams.
