LOS ANGELES -- Next time Ashton Kutcher tweets, his management team will read it before it gets sent, putting a layer between him and his 8.2 million Twitter followers.
He's handing over his Twitter account to his personal management because he tweeted several uninformed messages about Joe Paterno's exit from Penn State on Wednesday night. That's when Kutcher defended Paterno on Twitter, thinking he was pushed out because of his age.

With these CBA talks, a new amnesty clause has been among discussions as a new addition to the mix.
This clause would allow for each team to shed one contract outright before next season through a one-time amnesty provision that wipes that contract off a team's books -- even though the player must still be paid.

With the first month of the NBA season seemingly set to be wiped out, it’s about the time that basketball writers start writing the expected “Who will lose the most by missing the season?” column. So with no evident Rogue of the Week this week, here’s a different spin on the lockout: the top five teams or players that will MOST benefit from missing an entire season.
Grizzlies forward Shane Battier says Memphis is electric, and he sees no problem with his teammates rebounding from Wednesday night's 110-103 overtime loss in San Antonio. They are trying to become the fourth No. 8 seed in NBA history to beat a top seed to win a playoff series, holding a 3-2 lead going into Friday night's game.
Well, the Cavaliers found the win column. The Spurs keep finding it. The Lakers started the week like champions but ended with a pair of head-scratchers. Every team could use the rest this weekend's All-Star break will bring, though the Blazers are playing so well they'd probably like to keep going. Boston, by the way, still owns the Heat. And that's one storyline we'll still be discussing three months from now.

The logic is the Magic need some front court help since shipping out Marcin Gortat, and Randolph is an offensive and rebounding machine. For Memphis, they have both Randolph and Marc Gasol coming up as free agents this summer and it will be hard to pay both without paying a luxury tax (or whatever spending punishments will be in a new Collective Bargaining Agreement). This way the Grizzlies could get some talent back rather than just letting Randolph walk at the season’s end.

The Orlando Magic began the season as a frontrunner in the NBA Eastern Conference only to hastily reshuffle their roster at the first sign of trouble. Two months later, they're showing signs of embracing a newly assumed underdog role -- as unlikely as that may seem given they went to the conference finals last year and NBA Finals two years ago. And the Magic have renewed optimism after beating the reigning NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers over the weekend.
We’ve made it a point to try and get both sides of the Gilbert Arenas-Laura Govan relationship out because we feel like Arenas has been publically embarrassed and wrongfully depicted as a deadbeat by a vengeful woman. Think about how vindictive Govan is — she had Arenas served with court papers during halftime of one of his recent games. She also had a public relations person pitch a story to different news outlets in an effort to make Gilbert look like a horrible father. Because of the juicy nature of her claims, the story was widely published.
Gilbert Arenas was asked on Tuesday to talk about the progress of former teammate John Wall.
"No matter what he does, he's going to have his numbers," Arenas said. "But what you want to see is, Did he get better from the beginning of the year to the end of the year? And that's how you evaluate him.
"And then, hopefully, they make the right decisions by building veterans around him, like [the Boston Celtics did with Rajon] Rondo, like [the Chicago Bulls] did with Derrick Rose. You've got to put veterans [there] so he can learn how to play winning basketball. If he stays with all these young guys, he's just going to learn how to lose and be OK with it."

Nick Young got humbled in his last meeting with Gilbert Arenas, when Arenas used nearly every trick in his arsenal to take the Wizards' leading scorer out his game. Arenas roughed him up, snuck in some elbows, nudged him, and talked enough trash that at least three sanitation trucks needed to clean up afterward.
ORLANDO – Include Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson, who knows a thing or two about good basketball teams, as a strong believer in the bold December moves that the Orlando Magic made to restructure their roster.
This time a year ago, Jackson spoke up in surprise that the Magic chose not to re-sign Hedo Turkoglu following the 2009 NBA Finals when Orlando played the Lakers. But now that the Magic have Turkoglu back, along with Jason Richardson, Gilbert Arenas and Earl Clark, Jackson thinks the Magic have the potential to be an elite team in the East again. The Lakers have played Boston twice and Miami once, but he said heÂ’s unsure as to how Orlando compares to those teams in the East for now.
In recent seasons, first overall picks have begun their careers in productive team situations. Derrick Rose, Greg Oden, Andrea Bargnani and Andrew Bogut each made the postseason as a rookie, playing on deep teams with quality personnel.
Dwight Howard was the most recent first overall pick to not make the playoffs as a rookie, as he was on a team with the ball-dominant Steve Francis.
At this point in the 2010-2011 NBA season, you are who you are. Teams are over 50 games deep into the season and the weaknesses of each squad have been identified.
There is two weeks to go before the February 24th trade deadline and teams can still tinker with their rosters.
Today, we’re not thinking about lockouts and franchise tags. Today, just for today, we’re going to pretend that the owners and players are not so stupid as have a protracted lockout during a recession killing the momentum the league is building this season. A man can dream, can’t he?
Along those lines, right about now is when some fans start thinking of next season, of free agents and draft picks that can have them dreaming of playoffs next season.

After a thrilling win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday, the Miami Heat return to South Beach to host the NBA’s worst team - which so happens to be LeBron James’ former club. The Cleveland Cavaliers have lost 20 games in a row, and they are 0-2 straight-up versus Miami this year.
The Clippers got huge production from their starters, playing an average of 37 minutes, in an impressive 106-93 win over the Nuggets. DeAndre Jordan set the tone, playing more than 40 minutes for the third straight game and totaling 14 points, 20 boards, three assists, and six blocks. Blake Griffin(notes) turned in his usual double-double (22 points, 18 boards, 7 assists), Eric Gordon(notes) was strong (28 points, 4 threes), and both Baron Davis(notes) (16 points, 2 threes, 8 assists, 0 turnovers, 2 steals) and Ryan Gomes(notes) (13 points, 3 threes) were efficient contributors. Over his past 13 games, Jordan has averaged 9.5 points on 74-percent shooting, 9.7 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks in 32 minutes. The big fantasy drawback is that he’s also made just 49 percent of 3.2 free throws per game. The longer Jordan keeps playing like this, the less likely the team will be to push Chris Kaman(notes) back into action. Kaman remainswithout a timetablein his return from an ankle injury. And don’t look now, but the Clippers have won six of their past nine games.
