An online study conducted by ROI Research for performance marketing firm Performics in September and October 2011 found men are more likely than women to conduct social shopping activities online. This includes activities like product information and review information research, product comparisons, product availability check and store information retrieval via social networks, shopping sites and deal sites like Groupon and Living Social.

"Social" is your Friend -- How well do you know her?
Buzzz, your cell phone alarm rings, you roll over, grab your two phones and begin checking your email. “$20 worth of groceries for $10 at Whole Foods. What? Is this for real? Is Whole Foods – frequently coined “Whole Paycheck” – on Living Social’s site for New York. You click Purchase because you think 1) If this is true, then there must be a limited quantity, and 2) This is an incredible deal. Within seconds, you’ve purchased the deal with the stored credit card information and the coupon is sitting in your mailbox. Then a link pops up – “If 3 friends buy this deal, your deal will be free.” You immediately click the link and send to three of your friends. All this, while on a business trip to Zurich, Switzerland, many miles from home…time to get that fondue at the local “Chuchi” my friend’s friend recommended I check out when I let Facebook tell her I’m in Zurich.

LivingSocial Launches Augmented Reality Adventures in Western Cities, via GoldRun
LivingSocial Adventures, known for producing curated social events in cities worldwide, will present a series of scavenger hunts in three West Coast cities throughout August.
