The Rangers are sticking with what got them to the AL championship series -- for the most part.
Texas announced its ALCS roster Saturday and made one change to the roster that it used to eliminate the wild card Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Division Series.
Former Tigers catcher and Texas' third catcher Matt Treanor was replaced by right-handed reliever Yoshinori Tateyama, which gives the Rangers an eight-man bullpen in the best-of-seven series.
Treanor was added to the ALDS roster as a security blanket that allowed catchers Mike Napoli and Yorvit Torrealba to start in the same lineup. Treanor did not see action in the series.
Tateyama, signed by the Rangers as a free agent from Japan last November, was 2-0 with a 4.50 ERA in 39 relief appearances for Texas this season. He joins right-handers Neftali Feliz, Mike Adams, Alexi Ogando, Koji Uehara and Scott Feldman in the bullpen.
The Rangers also have two left-handed relievers in Darren Oliver and Mike Gonzalez.
Here is the complete 25-man roster:
Starting rotation : Matt Harrison, Derek Holland, Colby Lewis, C.J. Wilson.
Bullpen : Mike Adams, Scott Feldman, Neftali Feliz, Mike Gonzalez, Alexi Ogando, Darren Oliver, Yoshinori Tateyama, Koji Uehara.
Infielders : Elvis Andrus, Adrian Beltre, Esteban German, Ian Kinsler, Mitch Moreland, Michael Young.
Catchers : Mike Napoli, Yorvit Torrealba.
Outfielders : Endy Chavez, Nelson Cruz, Craig Gentry, Josh Hamilton, David Murphy.
