NORTH LIMA - Paul J. Highfield Jr., 76, of North Lima, formerly of Salem, died at 12:40 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2011 at the Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman.
He was born Jan. 3, 1934 in East Liverpool, Ohio, the son of the late Paul Joseph Sr. and Roberta (Hoskins) Highfield.
Mr. Highfield was last employed with the Ward Trucking Co. in Altoona, Pa., as a truck driver. He was a member of the St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church in Columbiana and a former member of the St. Paul Catholic Church in Salem.
Paul was a 1952 graduate of Salem High School and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include three sons, Michael (Rosaland) Highfield of Canfield, John (Vicki) Highfield of Canfield, and Larry Highfield of Youngstown; two daughters, Christine (Kevin) Crawford of Columbiana and Cathy (Jim) Nicora of Youngstown; his former wife, Florence McQuillan of Canfield; three sisters, Ann (Dale) Berger of Salem, Mary Jane Wolam of Andover and Theresa Dimoff of Raleigh, NC; and four grandchildren, Nicole and Tom Glass and Gary and Simone Highfield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Father Robert Edwards officiating.
Full military honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard will follow the services at the funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery in Salem.
