Highview Pastures is a small 100-acre sustainable farm located in Lakeville. They have white pumpkins, heritage pumpkins and white mini pumpkins and large Cinderella’s. Come early because in 2010 they sold out of all their pumpkins!
McDougall’s in Hastings has six acres of pumpkins, all different sizes and shapes. Have fun picking your pumpkins by taking a wagon to the pumpkin patch, or walk and pull an Amish wagon to bring back your pumpkins. There are also pre-picked pumpkins.
Pick your own pumpkins at Peter’s Pumpkins in Shakopee. Duing the weekends there is free face painting and hayrides. Peter’s Pumpkins is open Monday through Friday 11:00 – 6:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 9:00 – 6:30 p.m.
Before you begin pumpkin picking, stop in for a cup of hot apple cider at Afton Apple Orchard in Hastings. Pumpkin picking season starts the last weekend in September and goes through October. Afton Apple Orchard has mini pumpkins, pie pumpkins, small jack-o-lanterns, medium pumpkins and very large pumpkins.
There are plenty of Halloween pumpkins at Fireside Orchard and Gardens in Northfield. The great pumpkin arises on October 5. There is also a great assortment of apples, jams, jellies, Minnesota cheese, honey and maple syrup and soups.
