Occupy Tampa and sell hot dogs

My office is right above the Occupy Tampa protest site. The picture I see is very different than the one you showed in the paper. Most of the time, there are fewer than 10 people there. At busy times, there are as many as 20. The entire area they "occupy" is smaller than most conference rooms. Heck, a hot dog vendor would draw a bigger crowd.

I suspect that this is because Tampa didn't get any government bailouts; Tampa wasn't too big to fail; Tampa didn't have any "green" scams it could use to bamboozle money from the government. Also, the 50 percent occupancy rate of my building suggests that the "fat cats" in Tampa haven't done particularly well over the past couple of years.

If they want their movement to take off, they need a better hook than "tax the rich" or "we are the 99 percent." Something that resonates with the people working downtown.

Selling hot dogs would be a good start.
