AU ROUNDUP: No. 16 women's golf in fourth at Tar Heel

team remained in fourth place after the second round of the Tar Heel Invitational, carding a 2-over 290 for a two-day total 1-over 577. Auburn enters Sunday’s final round just eight strokes out of the lead.

Sophomore Marta Sanz  held on to her fourth-place tie at 5-under 139, carding a second-round 70. JuniorCarlie Yadloczkyand SeniorHaley Wilsonfinished the day in a tie for 17th with 1-over 145s.Yadloczkyposted a 1-over 73 on the day whileWilsoncame in at even-par 72.

FreshmenVictoria TrapaniandNicole Quinnrounded out the squad.Trapanicarded a 75 to finish the day tied for 39th at 1-over 148, whileQuinnposted a 78 to tie for 66th with an 8-over 152.

Alabamaand LSU are tied for the lead with 7-under 569s, followed by hostNorth Carolinain third at an even-par of 576. Auburn remains in fourth at 1-over 577, while North Carolina State is fifth at 4-over 580.

Action in the Tar Heel Invitational is set to resume around 8:15 a.m. Sunday with a shotgun start. Fans can follow all the action with live scoring at www.GolfStat.com.

The Auburn Equestrian team opened upSECcompetition in dramatic fashion with a 10-10, tiebreak win overSouth Carolinaon Saturday at theAuburn University Horse Center.

The Gamecocks scored a total raw score of 1444.5, which was not enough to beat Auburn's total raw score of 1486.
