IT’S ALMOST TIME for the Lunar Rendezvous Festival to move into high gear after many months of work by Festival Chairman Kelli McCorkle Byrd and Vice Chairman Terri Dieste and their talented array of event chairmen.
Vicki Tallman and her vice chairman, Tisa Foster, got the party started back in April with a couple hundred gathering for the annual Kickoff Party at UH-Clear Lake and the introduction of the 2011 festival king, John Wilkins.
Within a couple of weeks, the festival was off to a successful start with Kevin and Ruth Duke chairing the Tennis Tournament and Tracey Farmer and Vice Chairmen Penny Brockway and Tammy Horton hosting the Golf Tournament.
Kicking off July’s festivities will be the Dining Event with Jenny McCorkle as chairman and Annie Cummings as vice chairman, followed by the Family Fun Night, headed by Brandy Culp and Vice Chairman Jennifer Farley.
Meanwhile, Chairman Jay Lee and Vice Chairman Jennifer Mason are getting turned up for the 2011 Honeywell Fun Run, as Sunset Service Chairman Tami Barrier and Vice Chairman Therese Ruff get everything in place for their event and Chairman Jill Reason and Vice Chairman Angela Jenkins begin taking reservations for the big Fashion Show.
Several will be working with Coronation Ball Chairman Lea Bodie and Vice Chairman Julie Kiersh, including Court Chairman Denise Sanders and Vice Chairman Renee McCoy, Little Court Chairman Terri Dodd and Vice Chairman Stephany Roush and Royals Chairman Elizabeth Olin and Vice Chairman Jana Miller.
Looking behind the scenes, you’ll find many more putting in hours and hours of work, including Program Chairman Ilana Cowan, Publicity Chairman Pam Moore, Opportunity Drawing Chairman Vicki Daniel, Auction Chairman Sylvia Nolan and Vice Chairman Tricia Totten, Ad Chairman Ashley Harral, Corporate Sponsor Chairman Kate Byrd and Treasurer Lisa Holbrook and dozens of others.
Afterwards, there’ll be time to celebrate at the appreciation party Chairman Paula Black and Vice Chairman Carol Webber are putting together.
