Verbal commitments are flocking to West Virginia as of late, as newly-minted Mountaineer head coach Dana Holgorsen and his staff picked up their third verbal of the week when Baltimore Calvert Hall cornerback Da'Quan Davis offered his pledge while in Morgantown on Saturday.
Davis, on campus at WVU to attend the school's 7-on-7 camp, is the ninth commitment for the Mountaineers.
A 3-star cornerback who picked up a scholarship offer from West Virginia in February, Davis also had an offer from Marshall . He had received serious interest from Connecticut , Maryland , Notre Dame , South Carolina , Temple , Vanderbilt and Virginia .
Davis' team lost Saturday to Charleston (W.Va.) George Washington at the 7-on-7 camp, but that was its first defeat of the weekend. Made up of talented players from multiple Baltimore-area high schools, the team had impressed throughout the camp.
Indeed, Mountaineer coaches Steve Dunlap , David Lockwood and Daron Roberts all watched for a long stretch of Davis' team's Friday night game against Jefferson (W.Va.) High School.
BlueGoldNews.com will have more on Davis' commitment throughout the day and weekend.
