Solstice honeytrap mission?
London - A massive killer bee colony that terrorised much of New York during last week's Lunar Eclipse has suddenly materialised in London.
Millions of the angry insects congregated near the Apple Store in Regent Street, the flagship shopping mall pawned by the Crown Estate.
Er, owned!...
Early indications weren't clear if the bees were the same fluorescent variety spotted flying in bizarre UFO-shaped formations around Fukushima, Japan last week.
However one experienced apiarist - whose own hives have been acting 'a bit bonkers' since the June 1st solar eclipse - claimed the colony queen herself looked a spectacular iridescent greenish/blue.
"She's probably on a solstice honeytrap mission," Piccadilly Circus apiarist Dame Daphne Hollyhock told Hive Times magazine today.
"Or she might be scouring the streets looking to bury her awesome fang in some high profile tosspot - like Nick Clegg or Boris Johnson!
"Wouldn't it be a hoot if the colony next descends on the tennis at Wimbledon, hahaha."
The colony was eventually captured by a London Fire Brigade dedicated apiary unit and repatriated somewhere off the M25.
The summer solstice is at 17.16GMT tomorrow.
