Alabama vs. Florida: Could Gator Been Better with Nick Saban or Urban Meyer

That left the door open for Will Muschamp and company to take over.

What if Urban Meyer hadn't left Florida orNick Sabanhad taken over instead? Would this team be better of than the current position they're in?

Let's take a look.

Urban Meyer is considered one of the top coaches ever at the University of Florida and you could make a solid argument he was better than Steve Spurrier.

During his six seasons at Florida he was 65-15, went to six bowl games and won five of them including two National Championships. He also won two SEC Championships.

Urban Meyer really brought the good old days back to the University of Florida and ran the spread offense better than anybody in the country.

There was also a negative during Meyer's six years at the University and that's when you bring up the Gators arrest record under his watch. Meyer was often criticized for 30 players being arrested through the span of six years with charges anywhere from drugs to weapons.

There is no question still having Urban Meyer on the sidelines would be great for Florida but the constant off the field issues really hurt Florida's reputation.

Once Urban Meyer left Florida there were reports that Nick Saban may have been interested in taking his place. Of course he didn't but would it have been a good fit if he did?

Saban has a ton of coaching experience and is considered one of the greatest coaches in college football right now. His 153-33 overall record is very impressive and has won several bowl games with different teams including a National Championship in 2009 with Alabama.

He may not have made many friends with the way he has left in the past with LSU and the Miami Dolphins, but there is no denying that Saban is one of the top coaches in football and almost every team would be better off with him as their coach.

Head coach Will Muschamp got his first head coaching job with Florida once Urban Meyer left and so far he hasn't really disappointed.

Florida is off to a nice 4-0 start and is really surprising people who thought they wouldn't do well with Muschamp in his first year. The Gators offense is more explosive than most expected and the defense is playing some of the best football in the country.

Muschamp is of course a defensive coach and coaches with a lot of emotion and intensity. He looks to be one of the top up and coming head coaches and the next great great Gators head coach.

You can't really go wrong having any of these coaches on your team. They are all great recruiters and are going to attract some of the top talent in the country. They also produce on the football field and earn solid victories in the toughest conference in football.

Overall though, the Gators can't complain with Will Muschamp as he seems to be a great fit to put this University back on top. It also helps that he has offensive coordinator Charlie Weiss on his side.

These two working together may become the best coaching tandem in college football and the Gators will be in good hands for the next several years.
