Having spent a small fortune on Carl Crawford, and with Adrian Gonzalez's new contract still looming, the Red Sox' owner found enough coin between the couch cushions to invest in the last film that Paul Newman had worked on.
The Henry family have thrown their muscle behind "Lucky Them," and indie film about a rock journalist who's assigned to find her ex-boyfriend, reported Variety . The film is being produced by Newman's widow, Joanne Woodward.
The film has Marisa Tomei, Thomas Haden Church, Allison Janney and Alec Baldwin attached, and a script from actress Emily Wachtel and Huck Botko, who most recently penned "The Last Exorcism" and "The Virginity Hit." That's a great cast, but the writing team is a wee suspect.
Shooting for the film, production of which Woodward took over upon Newman's death 2008, is scheduled to begin in New York City this year.
Now maybe the owners can focus on getting the Sox some starting pitching.
