TENANTS managed to escape when arsonists poured an accelerant, possibly petrol, through the letterbox of a house in Farley Hill and set light to it.
The attack happened at about 1.30am on Tuesday, April 26.
Two men are believed to have approached the house and poured the flammable liquid through the letterbox while the occupants of the house were asleep.
The men left the area in what is thought to have been a taxi.
Det Con Ann Ward, investigating, said: “Fortunately all the occupants were able to get out of the house and nobody was injured, although there was considerable damage to the property.
“We are very keen to hear from anyone who saw anybody acting suspiciously in the area before the fire, or who may have come across persons smelling of petrol or other accelerants later that morning.”
