COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP — The Comstock Township Fire Department is welcoming back a member who is returning from Baltimore and acknowledging the promotion of Kevin Thompson to lieutenant.
David W. Weiss left the department last year to take a post in Baltimore, but he has returned to work at Bronson Methodist Hospital and as a volunteer firefighter.
Fire Chief Wally Culver recommended his rehiring to the Township Board, noting the township paid to send him to the fire academy and had an investmet in him.
Both Weiss and Thompson will be working at the North Station.
Township Board Trustee Randy Thompson abstained on voting approval for the promotion because Kevin is his son.
