( YBH ) – Democrats are all over the place this morning. They are blaming S&P, the Tea Party, and George W. Bush for the nation’s first ever downgrade. Unfortunately, they aren’t assigning any blame to the parties most responsible for the downgrade: themselves.
This morning Harry Reid issued a statement that talked about oil companies and corporate jet owners not paying their fair share. Yawn. Dennis Kucinich was on FOX News parroting the same idea. So basically, the downgrade will change nothing in the Democrats game plan: class warfare is still on! They just don’t get it. America was downgraded because we spend too much money in Washington, D.C. Not because we don’t tax or regulate our citizens enough. Democrats are in denial.
Just this month, 379 new regulations from the Obama administration on business will reportedly add $9.5 billion in additional costs. Far more money than the purported evil jet owners and oil companies are benefitting from within the tax code. Also, with the debt limit raised spending season is back in full force. Woo hoo!
When Barack Obama said that he was going to “fundamentally transform the United States of America”, I had no idea that downgrading our nations credit rating was part of the equation.
It is hard to fathom a scenario that ends with Obama winning a second term. The usual suspects in the press will make the case for their leader, but really the public is at its wit’s end with Obamanomics. The left will bark ad nauseam that Obama saved us from the George W. Bush depression, but it is doubtful that anyone will listen. The simple truth is that Democrats can not be trusted with the nation’s purse strings. It is too tempting for them to use that power to buy votes and install their cronies throughout the government. That is a hard truth that the American public is coming to grips with.
George W. Bush was Obama light. His social spending and expansion of the debt was almost as bad, but make no mistake the debt to GDP ratio was only 64.8% during most of Bush’s reign. Obama has taken that figure over 100% and rising rapidly. That is why we were downgraded. Not because the founders of Google don’t pay an exorbitant tax on their private jets.
Obama must be defeated next year or America’s future will be a bleak one indeed.
