Boolarra is through to its first Mid Gippsland Football League finals series in a close to a decade, after defeating the fifth-placed Yallourn/Yallourn North by 47 points on Saturday.
With its sights firmly set on a second chance for the upcoming finals series, Boolarra burst out of the blocks booting five goals to one in the opening term.
The Bombers responded with their own bag of five in the second, however Yallourn/Yallourn North proved no match for the inform Demons, who held the Bombers goalless in the final term.
Former Morwell Football Club playing coach and late season Demons recruit, Jason MacFarlane, proved he will be a valuable inclusion for the finals, with a best on ground performance.
Robert Fox finished the afternoon with a bag of six for Boolarra, while Tim Phillips booted three for Yallourn/Yallourn North.
Trafalgar has finished the home and away season undefeated as it vies for its third straight premiership.
Resting some of its best players ahead of the finals, the Bloods stormed to victory by 89 points.
The final round match could not have worked out any better for Trafalgar, which celebrated the return of coach Matt Robertson from an almost career-ending back injury.
The premiership coach booted three majors on his return following an operation in December last year.
However, Michael Farrell was the star on the day, he finished the afternoon with six goals.
While it did not make the finals, Saturday marked the end of Hill End’s best performance since 2004.
Newborough sewed up fourth spot with a 29-point win over Yarragon.
The scene is now set for an elimination final against neighbour and fierce rival Yallourn/Yallourn North next Sunday.
Michael Gelagotis booted five goals and Jake Munro three, while for the Panthers Nick Murray finished with a bag of four.
It marked the end of a disappointing season for Yarragon, however it was not all bad news for the Panthers, which spent the year developing its younger players.
