A gift bag of plum tomatoes from a friend recently reminded me of a stew recipe I hadn’t had in sometime. It sounded especially good since the weather has cooled off a bit.
The recipe is from a cookbook I purchased a couple of years ago titled, “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Slow Cooker Cooking.”
Ellen Brown, author of the cookbook, has written several other “Complete Idiot’s Guides’” cookbooks including how to whip up smoothies and cooking for two people.
Now that school has started and many cooks are busier than usual, this recipe is good because all you have to do is set out your slow cooker, fill it, set it and forget it until it is ready to serve.
