Variety reports that the actor is set to carry on in the hit Showtime series and has been in talks with bosses for the last few months as his contract expires with the end of the sixth series on October 2.
It's claimed Hall wants a pay rise in the new deal as he has been on the same original contract for the past six seasons since the show started.
Hall plays the part of a serial killer on the show and has won a Golden Globe as well as four Emmy nominations for the role.
