The year 2010 brought sad moments both in death and health issues involving celebrities. From soul singers to kings of the big screen, bad luck in health didn't steer clear of the most highlighted, Hollywood cases in 2010.
QUEEN OF SOUL ARETHA FRANKLIN BANNED FROM PERFORMANCE
After undergoing "...a highly successful surgery on December 2 for an undisclosed ailment", it was later reported that Aretha Franklin is fighting pancreatic cancer. The 68-year-old singer has canceled all of her holiday and personal appearances through May 2011. While Aretha plans to spend the holidays with family and looks forward to a full recovery, pancreatic cancer is a fast moving cancer which causes questions and deep concerns from fans about her future health in the New Year.
MICHAEL DOUGLAS: BAD SMOKING, DRINKING LED TO THROAT DEMISE
Another celebrity enduring star suffering from cancer is actor Michael Douglas. Diagnosed with a walnut sized tumor near the base of his tongue earlier in the year, the Oscar-winning actor was reported to have been fighting back hard against his advanced throat cancer. Multiple reports indicated that Dougas posed for a number of "set-up appearances" where he was to appear energized and in recovery; however, many sources claim Douglas acted "frail and sick" when not on camera.
