The digital marketing leaders’ philanthropy documentary that advocates music education has been awarded with top honors from The Telly Awards, Communitas Awards, Communicator Awards, Videographer Awards, and now it’s added an official Stevie Award to its winning streak.
“The production of Step & Close was quite an experience in itself,” explains Oneupweb Founder and CEO, Lisa Wehr. “The process and intensity of editing, filming and premiering our film was exciting, but now to receive recognition is just downright thrilling.”
Although Oneupweb is based in beautiful, quaint Traverse City, they took on competitors from large metros, like Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City, as they accepted the Stevie for P.R. Non-profit Fundraising. More than 2,800 entries from organizations of various sizes and industries were submitted.
“There’s certainly a ‘wow’ feeling when receiving a prestigious award like a Stevie,” explains Wehr. “But having earned an award for a project that we all felt passionate about, and one that was rewarding to execute is remarkable.”
And Wehr isn’t the only one who feels the energy of the award winning documentary, Step & Close . The Traverse City West Marching Band members are also enjoying the film’s media buzz.
“The kids and I couldn’t be happier,” explains Traverse City West Senior High School Director of Bands, Pat Brumbaugh. “It was exciting for them to be a part of a huge production, and now that it [Step & Close] has received national recognition with multiple awards, they’re really psyched.”
