Corey Graham returns to Chicago Bears - ESPN Chicago

BOURNBONNAIS, Il. -- In the end, Chicago proved to be the best fit for Corey Graham.

After testing the free agent market, Graham agreed to a new one-year contract with the Bears.

Graham did receive interest from several teams during the free agency process.

This marks a major coup for the Bears, who already lost core special teamers Rashied Davis and Danieal Manning in free agency. The belief is Graham could be a Pro Bowl selection in 2011, after he led the club with 25 special teams tackles last season. Retaining Graham had been a priority for the Bears and special teams coach Dave Toub.

Graham had previously expressed a desire to find a situation where he could compete for a starting job on defense, but after weighing all the available options, rejoining the Bears made the most sense. Not only is Graham one of the top special teamers on the roster, he gives the Bears depth at the cornerback and nickel back positions.

The Bears also waived guard Herman Johnson on Saturday.
