Miller (4-1) allowed two hits over 5 2/3 innings in a wild but effective performance. He issued a career-high six walks and only had one perfect inning.

PHILLIES 9, CUBS 1 (at Chicago) — Vance Worley (6-1) pitched eight dominant innings, Jimmy Rollins homered from both sides of the plate and Philadelphia pounded Ryan Dempster at steamy Wrigley Field.
Rollins hit solo shots batting left-handed against Ramon Ortiz in the sixth and from the right side against John Grabow in the eighth.
ROCKIES 3, BRAVES 2 (at Denver) — Carlos Gonzalez singled home the winning run off Eric O'Flaherty with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to lift Colorado to a win over Atlanta.
DODGERS 1, GIANTS 0 (at San Francisco) — Clayton Kershaw was one pitch better than San Francisco's Tim Lincecum in a matchup of All-Star aces.
Kershaw (11-4) allowed three hits in eight innings.
Dioner Navarro's seventh-inning home run off Lincecum (8-8) landed in McCovey Cove.
REDS 3, PIRATES 1 (at Pittsburgh) — Johnny Cueto gave up one run over six innings for Cincinnati.

Matsui broke a 5-5 tie with an RBI single in the seventh inning.
The Tigers acquired veteran infielder Wilson Betemit (.281, 3 HR, 37 RBI)) from the Royals for two Class A prospects, lefty Antonio Cruz and catcher Julio Rodriguez.
