How to wear: White

There is the old saying that you can only wear white between Memorial Day and Labor Day.  I have no idea where this saying came from, but I think that it is very untrue. You can wear white in all seasons, as long as you wear it right.  I’ll save this topic for another post, but to wear white right in the Summer, let me offer up a few tips:

The most important part of any outfit is the proper undergarments. When wearing white, I caution you not to wear white undergarments. You may think that pairing white undergarments with white clothing will mask the appearance of your undergarments. However, they do not. Instead, opt for flesh tone colors closest in color to your skin tone..

Pesky Pockets:

Often times, white pants, shorts, capris, and even skirts come with pockets. And sometimes these pockets can be seen through the garments.  Nothing looks worse that wearing a crisp pair of white wide-leg trousers and having the two back pockets shown through the butt.  A great way to hide this nuisance is to eliminate the pockets.  Sew the pockets shut and cut the remaining of the pocket out for a flawless back side.

Shoes:

I may get a lot of feedback from this but, I very much dislike solid, white-colored shoes.  They practically get dirty as soon as you put them on.  Instead, opt for colorful pumps or flats in summer tones of yellow, tan, green and coral, and metallic sandals.
