Darwell Joins National Cruise Planning Agency

Cheryl Darwell, of West End, has joined Cruise Planners, an award-winning national cruise agency.

Cruise Planners, an American Express Travel Services representative, is the largest home-based travel agent network in the cruise industry, with more than 700 franchise owners across the country that independently book cruises and associated travel, a news release said.

Headquartered in Coral Springs, Fla., Cruise Planners has achieved the highest industry awards year after year.

Affiliation means that Darwell can now offer customers exclusive pricing on a wide range of cruise packages, a choice of thousands of group departures, private cruise sales, as well as cabin upgrades and special amenities such as shore excursions, discounted fares, travel gifts and more, the release said. As a Cruise Planners/American Express specialist, Darwell also provides specialized land and tour packages to destinations around the world.

Cruising has become one of the fastest-growing methods of travel.

"More and more people are taking cruises every year," said Darwell, an avid cruiser herself. "There's also been the emergence of multi-generational cruisers - families that take their cruise vacations together.

"Cruises offer the most satisfying, convenient and value-oriented way to travel. Cruise Planners has 'Top Producer' status with virtually every cruise line, which enables me to provide my customers with the best prices along with my expertise and personalized service. As a Cruise Planners agent, my mission is to create the ideal vacation experience for my customers tailored to where they want to go and what they want to do.

"Because we are so connected in the industry, I know Cruise Planners will keep me informed on new ships and their amenities as well as what the top cruise lines have in store for the savvy traveler."

Exclusive to Cruise Planners is International Conferences, providing excellent accredited programs of continuing medical, nursing, legal and dental educational seminars at sea, the news release said.

Cruise Planners also announced "Voyages for Veterans," a fundraising partnership with Royal Caribbean International and the Fisher House Foundation, a charity that provides no-cost housing to families of veterans undergoing extended medical treatment at VA medical centers around the country.

As an American Express Travel Services representative agency, Cruise Planners offers Mariner Club sailings, which means their customers receive exclusive benefits such as a gracious and complimentary host, private cocktail party, shore events, additional shipboard credits and more - adding value to the vacation, the news release said. Customers can now use their American Express Reward Points to cover all or part of their vacation.

Licensed, bonded and insured, Cruise Planners-American Express is a member of CLIA (Cruise Line International Association), NACOA (National Association of Cruise Only Agencies) and the BBB (Better Business Bureau).
