MADISON, Conn. (WTNH) - Loved ones are honoring the life of a Madison mother who was found dead in front of her home one year ago.
Barbara Hamburg was found dead in the yard of her beach-front home. No one has ever been charged.
Not a day, not a week, not a month goes by for family of Hamburg when they don't think about the magnitude of their loss.
"We're a very strong family, filled with patience, and faith. It's not always easy," says Conway Beach-Williams, victim's sister.
"She was full of joy, grace, kindness. She did so many things for many people, including her mother. We had a wonderful, wonderful life together," says Barbara Lund, victim's mother.
Hamburg's body was found a year ago in her Madison yard on Middle Beach Road West. Speculation surrounded her husband, Jeffrey, who Barbara was to meet on the day of her death for divorce proceedings. One year later, still no arrests, and the family is making a public plea for help.
"I talk to the investigators every week. It doesn't happen like we all see on t-v. It's a long arduous process,"says Rich Beach, victim's brother.
"It's been a very great loss, she was my baby sister, I spent my life protecting her, and I miss her deeply, painfully, my heart aches everyday," says Conway Beah-Williams.
A candle light vigil will be held on the green at 6:30, a year to the date of her death. It is proof that no time goes by when Barbara's memory isn't celebrated.
"It does test your faith, right to your very core. The ultimate question is why would God let something like this happen," says Rich Beach.
"For me, it will help me feel safer to know whoever has done this has been put behind bars. No one should have to live that way. It's changed my life drastically," says Conway Beach-Williams.
