Gates Community Theater seeks board members, volunteers

The Board of Directors for Gates Community Theater is recruiting volunteers to become board members, as well as voluntarily fill vacant treasurer and recording secretary roles. The theater group, which was established in 1998, has presented such popular shows as "The Sound of Music," "Annie," "The Music Man," "Beauty and the Beast," and most recently, "The Wizard of Oz."

The group was awarded the prestigious New York State Recreation and Parks Society 2001 Arts and Humanities award in recognition for their production of "It’s a Wonderful Life." Gates Community Theater began as a means to enhance cultural awareness through the performing arts on the west side of Rochester.

Those interested in becoming a board member or serving as the board’s treasurer or recording secretary may contact Adeane Giagios at mgiagios@aol.com.
