Sean Parker, the man who became a billionaire as a consultant for Facebook and who started the controversial music sharing service Napster is considering buying Warner Music Group.
Forbes is reporting that Parker has reportedly joined a group of investors, including fellow billionaire Ron Burkle, in bidding for the music giant, which is expected to fetch over $2 billion when the sale is completed next month.
Parker has been working as a consultant for a European music streaming site much like Napster, Spotify. He has been trying to get the service off the ground in the U.S. According to The Hollywood Reporter Spotify is also having issues with Warner Music Group who, along with Universal Music Group, have not come to terms with the Sweden-based company.
Burkle and Teitlebaum represent one of at least five bidders looking at Warner Music Group. A decision in expected in the next few weeks.
