Kyle Kingsbury vs. Fabio Maldonado set for The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale | MMA News

A light heavyweight match-up has been added to for the UFC this June.

Rising contender Kyle Kingsbury will be taking on Brazilian Fabio Maldonado at “The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale”, which takes place on June 4 at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The main-event of the evening will put WEC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis against perennial contender Clay Guida. The show will serve as the culmination for the upcoming season of “The Ultimate Fighter” which pits former champ Brock Lesnar against top contender Junior dos Santos, coaching a new wave of a talent in the welterweight class.

It’s uncertain at this time whether or not Kingsbury and Maldonado will be featured on the televised main-card, but it should be, as this fight promises to be a very explosive affair.

Kyle was last seen in action at UFC 126 this past February, where he recorded the fastest win of his career, a 21-second TKO over former Ring of Combat light heavyweight champ Ricardo Romero.

The win helped extend a three-fight win streak inside the octagon for the American Kickboxing Academy product, which includes victories over Razak Al-Hassan and a bout with Jared Hamman, which earned both him and Kyle “Fight of the Night” honors.

In his way to becoming a top contender in the division will be Maldonado, who is as grizzly as they come.

Member of the famed Blackhouse camp, Fabio made his UFC debut in October of last year when he met with James McSweeney at UFC 120 in the Brit’s native England. There, the two battled it out in a contentious war which saw Fabio edge the Greg Jackson product in the third-round, finishing McSweeney with strikes in the final frame.

The win helped complete an 11-fight win streak for the Brazilian, whom holds two decisive wins over UFC vet Maiquel Falcao.

Both men have a penchant for punching people in the face, are aggressive and very “in your face” type of fighters, so this should turn out to be an enterating fight for the fans.

So, MMA peeps, what do you think of the fight? Who do you favor? Sound off in the comment section below.
