Glazebrook and Everly sign with Bees

Rochester running back and CS8 Player of the Year Colten Glazebrook is headed to St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. along with teammate Traves Everly.

ROCHESTER - Two of the Central State Eight Conference’s most explosive running backs are among three local players who have signed to play football with St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.

Rochester running back and CS8 Player of the Year Colten Glazebrook is headed there along with teammate Traves Everly. Sacred Heart-Griffin running back Greg Wilson also has signed with St. Ambrose, an NAIA school.

Glazebrook finished the season with 1,719 rushing yards, 585 receiving yards and 41 total touchdowns for the Class 4A state champion Rockets. Everly caught 18 passes for 426 yards and three touchdowns.

“ Traves had talked to Quincy, St. Ambrose and Monmouth,’’ Rochester coach Derek Leonard said. “And with Glazebrook, it just kind of worked out good. He and Traves are good friends. St. Ambrose wanted him bad, and it was a good marriage for Colten.”

Wilson rushed for 1,402 yards and 20 touchdowns in his final season with the Cyclones.

“I think it’s a great fit,” SHG coach Ken Leonard said. “(Former SHG quarterback) Eric Williamson has great shot at starting, and (former SHG running back Zach) Rockford is up there and doing well. Their coach really liked Greg and they need running backs. They got two good ones out of our conference.”

NOTES: SHG senior offensive lineman RYAN KLACHKO , a Nebraska signee, was a second-team selection on the U. S. Air Force Medium Schools All-America team.

Derek Leonard also said that Rochester lineman RYAN BROGLIN has signed with the College of DuPage.
