Coastal Carolina 61, (at) Charleston Southern 58 | Sydnei Moss had 23 points and 13 rebounds and Olivia Irick had 14 points to lead the Chanticleers past the Buccaneers.

Coastal Carolina started the game with a 15-0 run to build a big lead early before having to hold off a late charge from Charleston Southern, which closed to within two points by halftime.

A total of 28 college golf programs and 140 players are scheduled to participate Sunday through Tuesday in the men's Bash at the Beach at the Surf Golf and Beach Club and women's Barefoot at the Beach Challenge at Barefoot Resort's Love Course.

Men's teams at the Surf Club are host Appalachian State, Anderson, Campbell, Gardner-Webb, George Mason, George Washington, James Madison, Kennesaw State, North Dakota, St. Bonaventure, Stetson, Wright State and four individuals from South Carolina.

Women's teams at Barefoot are host College of Charleston, Appalachian State, Campbell, Charleston Southern, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Georgetown, High Point, Illinois State, Kennesaw State, Marshall, Mercer, Morehead State, Old Dominion and Wisconsin.

Organizers, including former Bay Tree Golf Plantation owner Keith Floyd of North Myrtle Beach and College of Charleston women's coach Jamie Futrell, hope to make the tournaments annual events in North Myrtle Beach.

About three hours of tee times at the Surf Club begin at 8:14 Sunday and Monday, and begin at 11:56 a.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday at the Love Course. Both courses have 9 a.m. shotgun starts in Tuesday's final rounds. Spectators are welcome.

Waccamaw 4, (at) Bamberg Erhardt 1 | Travis Shelley picked up his first win of the season for the Warriors as they defeated Bamberg-Erhardt at the Coastal Invitational Tournament. He had six strikeouts in six innings pitched and gave up two hits and one un-earned run. Logan Caulder went 1-for-3 with a triple, run and RBI for the Warriors.

East Rutherford 15, (at) Myrtle Beach 3 | East Rutherford mercy-ruled the Seahawks as they played in the Baseball at the Beach Tournament. Lucas Owens went 4-for-4 with three runs and two doubles for East Rutherford.

Alex Roberts was the losing pitcher for the Seahawks but he went 1-for-4 with a homerun and two RBIs.

Lee County (N.C.) 2, Socastee 2 | At Little River, Alison Markly and Cora Cunningham both scored a goal for Socastee as they tied Lee County in the Michael Nash Memorial Tournament.
