U14 Veracity Fall to Beverly - North Andover, MA Patch

The following was submitted by the North Andover Soccer Association.

The U14 boys North Andover Veracity struggled to notch a win at home on Saturday, Oct. 29 against Beverly Storm. But, despite their efforts and continued steps towards improved play, it was not to be, and they lost 0-2.

Both Beverly goals were scored early in the game and North Andover’s attacks became stronger and stronger as the game progressed. Veracity has one more shot next Sat., Nov. 5 against Andover after which point they will hunker down for the winter and look to emerge stronger in the spring.

Irrespective of the game outcome there were improvements on all fronts. Keeper COLE JULIUS led the team in responding to Beverly’s wake-up call. His technique was consistently phenomenal and he grew further in this game directing teammates and organizing backs on defense.

Backs SHANE HOWARD, MIKE POLIGNONE, NICK WILES, NATHAN WILLIS, and RUAIRI OCEARUIL were better positioned on defense and made better use of width on offense.

Midfielders SEAN SWANTON, EDDIE TWISS, CHRIS GORMAN, RYAN LAPOINTE, and BROOKS ROBINSON were a highlight of this game to coaches with better shape and use of each other.

Veracity has a few phenomenal dribblers and we saw a little more passing in this game! Wide players EDDIE ALLEN, DEVIN FINNEGAN, ANDRUE CROWLEY, and GARY BAGINSKI were frequently well-positioned and prepared for switching the field on attack but the opposition was just too strong to get the ball out.

Similarly with strikers KYLE KING and SEAN STEINBERG – they offered good targets and were prepared for more through balls than Beverly allowed.
