UAB F Cameron Moore's injury fortunate break for University of Memphis

When the University of Memphis hosts UAB on Wednesday at FedExForum, the Tigers will be catching a Blazers squad that will likely be without junior center Cameron Moore, who broke his left hand in practice Friday.

The Blazers haven't announced how much time Moore will miss.

UAB (18-6, 8-3), currently in second place in the league standings behind UTEP, managed to beat Rice on Saturday without Moore, but trailed at the half and needed a career-high 37 points from senior guard Jamarr Sanders to earn the 74-68 home win over the 11-13 Owls.

Moore had game-highs of 24 points and 11 rebounds in Memphis' 76-73 overtime win at UAB on Jan. 22, a game in which Moore hurt the Tigers around the baseline with his soft shooting touch. The 6-10 Moore is averaging 15.6 points and 9.8 rebounds for the Blazers this season.

Memphis (19-6, 7-3), which moved into third place with its 67-61 win over Southern Miss on Saturday at FedExForum, could move into first place Wednesday with a win over the Blazers coupled with a UTEP (19-5, 7-2) loss at Southern Miss. The Golden Eagles are 10-1 at home this season, their only loss a 76-75 setback to the Tigers on a last-second 3-pointer by Memphis junior Charles Carmouche.
