As our community continues to face a tight economy and shrinking budgets, the Daily Record has established this page that will each week chronicle the efforts of local nonprofit organizations. Bailey Publishing & Communications invites all members of the local nonprofit community to submit news, announcements, success stories and any other information they believe would be of interest to our readers. E-mail to: nonprofitnews@baileypub.com.
We also encourage our readers to become more aware of the needs of these worthy organizations as they try to continue to provide valuable services with reduced resources.

Members of the Safari Club served deep-fried quail and shepherds pie made with ground venison to residents of the shelter and guests of the night feeding program.
The North Florida Chapter of the Safari Club has provided meals of wild game, and the volunteers to serve it, for a number of years at The Salvation ArmyÂs Red Shield Lodge. Numerous Salvation Army locations across the country benefit from the groupÂs anti-hunger project each year.
The Safari Club shares its resources with the community through in-school awareness programs, hunting opportunities for the disabled and ÂSafari Wish, a program that seeks to fulfill hunting dreams for terminally ill children.
The Salvation ArmyÂs programs of emergency assistance in Northeast Florida provide more than 350,000 meals each year to the homeless, the working poor and others in crisis.

Nonprofit joins Bike WeekEach year, the Muscular Dystrophy Association is involved with Daytona Bike Week. MDA has a display within the Harley-Davidson Motor Co. exhibit at the Riverfront Park in Daytona Beach.
At the MDA booth, individuals are offered the opportunity to purchase a Daytona Bike Week pin as well as the 2011 MDA Harley-Davidson pin.
This year, MDA also will raffle off a 2011 Harley-Davidson V-Rod motorcycle. The raffle tickets will be on sale at the MDA booth at Riverfront Park. The drawing will take place at 2 p.m. March 12. Proceeds will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Harley-Davidson began its partnership with MDA in 1980 with a program called Bikers Fight MD. That year at the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, Harley-Davidson representatives presented their first check to MDA for $185,000.
Since 1980, Harley-DavidsonÂs family of dealers, customers, employees, suppliers and H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) chapters has raised more than $78 million for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Funds raised through hundreds of rides and other special events help support MDAÂs worldwide research, comprehensive medical care for children and adults with neuromuscular diseases, the MDA summer camp program for youngsters and more.
