I don’t get what all the uproar is about the possible changes to the jerseys. We added trim to them in 1987. So back when we were going undefeated and winning national championships, we didn’t have the trim. Check out pictures of John Cappelletti, our lone Heisman Trophy winner, where is the trim on his jersey? “Lifelong” Penn State football fans would welcome the change, not argue against it like it’s the end of the world.
I really don’t care if they do or don't make the change. We took the numbers off of the helmets. We decided to wear Bowl Patches for the first time in 1997. We added the Nike swoosh. Why can’t we take away the trim? Doesn’t it make our jerseys more retro? They aren’t proposing anything like the ugly uniforms Ohio State wore against Michigan last year, so who cares?
