Smart Savings: Take your coupons with you on Black Friday

Headed out shopping on Black Friday? Don't forget your coupons and weekly ads. Yes, that's right, you can still use coupons, even on Black Friday, as well as price match competitors' ads.

Five major retailers in the Fayetteville area who will honor price matching on Black Friday are Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, Staples and Office Depot. And, while some stores don't require you to bring an ad to price match, such as Walmart, I always suggest you do just in case any issues arise.

If you're finished with your Thanksgiving festivities early on Thursday evening, you may want to try your luck at Walmart as its stores are opening at 10 p.m. Thanksgiving night. They are kicking off the sale with door-buster deals on toys, clothing and home items, but waiting until midnight to start the door-busters on electronics.

If you are military, you may want to note that while the Exchange will price match on Black Friday, as well, there are some exclusions. AAFES states on its Facebook page, "Black Friday ads, as many everyday ads, are filled with limited quantity items, gimmick promotions and special offers. These are listed in our exclusions so would not be included in our price match guarantee."

With that said, keep in mind the deals you see in others ads may be gone if you wait until later in the day on Friday or till the weekend.

I personally prefer to shop online on "Cyber Monday," which is Nov. 28. To me, there's nothing better than being able to score great deals and free shipping, all while in my PJs and not having to fight my way through crowds.
