After-Hour Problems At S. Tulsa Convenience Store - FOX23 News

There are reported problems after dark and Jenks Police are asking for TulsaCounty’s help to patrol the parking lot of the RiverWalk Crossing.

Officers report in the last month there have been reports of car break-ins and underage drinking going on in the parking lot.

FOX23’s Abbie Alford reports the party doesn’t end there when the clubs close.

In the latest monthly Tulsa Police COMPSTAT meeting, a place where supervisors publicly discuss the latest crime trends, officers reported problems at the QuikTrip near 96th and Riverside Parkway.

They are called there around the time the clubs close almost every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

In one weekend night police reported they issued 15 citations.

It’s becoming the after-hours stop for teen partiers coming from the Jenks RiverWalk Crossing.

When you see the flashing lights in the RiverWalk that means it’s time to leave the clubs and head home.

"It's a happening place a lot of people come here and it's fun," says one patrol leaving The District.

The club is an advertised 18 and older club in Jenks on the RiverWalk.

However, many in the line of cars are headed over the bridge to the QuikTrip at 96th and Riverside Parkway.

FOX23 News cameras caught the place packed at 2:01 a.m. Friday morning.

Many of the cars and people coming from a Thursday night at The District, Midnight Rodeo or the Twisted Tilt on the RiverWalk.

Five minutes after FOX23 News parks nearby a brawl is about to happen.

There’s a girl spotted holding back a boy in the parking lot.

Tulsa police soon show up to control the crowd and the people scatter.

FOX23 News is told in just about an hour three fights broke out.

During the COMPSTAT meeting officers reported there are several larcenies and the popular item to swipe is beef jerky.

FOX23 News is told the Thursday night crowd is tame compared to a Friday and Saturday night.

QuikTrip did not return FOX23 News’ call and Tulsa Police would not release if or how it is working with QuikTrip to resolve the problems.

However, another law enforcement agency says QuikTrip is considering closing its doors around the time the clubs close and reopen shortly after the bars close.

Other QuikTrip locations with after-hour problems have done the same procedure.
