Reports are currently flying on the internet that celebrity athlete and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback is engaged to Ashley Harlan. So, we asked the question: Who is Ashley Harlan? –
Apparently, Ms. Ashley Harlan didn’t get the memo about celebrity quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, nicknamed Big Ben, and his prior, um, exploits concerning women. Rumors are running rampant on the internet about the engagement between celebrity athlete Ben Roethlisberger and Ms. Ashley Harlan.
The two-time Super Bowl winning Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback was approached by a local television station about the news of the engagement, but Big Ben Roethlisberger would not confirm the rumors of his pending engagement, but he didn’t exactly deny them either.
“Oh geez. Listen, there’s always rumors out there about professional athletes, especially about me. You guys know that I am not going to talk about my own personal life, I don’t do that. My one singular focus right now is on the playoffs, on football and trying to get to the Super Bowl. So, that’s what my focus is right now.”
Here is a report from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette concerning the young woman in question, Ashley Harlan:
“Information developed by the newspaper shows her as a graduate of Laurel High School, where she was a softball star, and a 2008 graduate of St. Francis University in Loretto, Cambria County, with a bachelor’s degree in health science, and, a year later, a master’s of physicians assistant.”
That is apparently all that anyone knows right now about the engagement between Big Ben and Ashley Harlan, as publications and websites are scrambling to get more news and confirm the actual engagement itself.
As mentioned above, celebrity athlete Ben Roethlisberger got himself in big hot water when he was accused of sexual assault while partying at a bar with friends and personal bodyguards at a bar in Milledgeville, Georgia. Those charges were eventually dropped, but because Big Ben had a prior run-in with another case involving sexual assault in Lake Tahoe, Nevada in 2009, National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell slapped Ben Roethlisberger with a six-game suspension to start the 2010 for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. That suspension was later downgraded to four games for apparent good behavior and Ben Roethlisberger’s participation in some sensitivity training mandated by the league.
GREEN CELEBRITY STATS:
To his credit, Ben Roethlisberger isn’t always knee-deep in trouble with the ladies. He started the The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation to help police departments and fire departments get grants and funding for k-9 units and service dogs.
