Mexican telcos Telmex and Comcel have reached a strategic agreement for the development of the Colombian pay-TV market
According to 'El Tiempo', the deal will see the two players consolidate a range of new services by the end of 2011 whilst at the same time the Colombian government will define the destiny of its investment in Colombia’s Spanish Telefónica-Telecom in whom it has a 45% stake.
Both Comcel and Telmex, owned by Mexican mogul Carlos Slim, already integrate their networks and technological platforms and will offer traditional and mobile telephony and internet and also pay-TV services by the end of this year.
