2006 (1-2): Penn State 20, Tennessee 10 (Outback); Wisconsin 17, Arkansas 14 (Capital One); Florida 41, Ohio State 14 (BCS National Championship).
2002 (1-2): Minnesota 29, Arkansas 14 (Music City); Michigan 38, Florida 30 (Outback); Auburn 13, Penn State 9 (Capital One).
2001 (3-0): South Carolina 31, Ohio State 28 (Outback); Tennessee 45, Michigan 17 (Florida Citrus); LSU 47, Illinois 34 (Sugar).

Florida defeated Ohio State for the 2006 Bowl Championship Series national championship, starting a string of four straight national titles by Southeastern Conference schools (with Auburn to play for the 2010 title). LSU won in 2007, followed by Florida in '08 and Alabama last year.
The SEC's dominance as compared to the Big Ten in that span is measurable in a number of ways. Since the 2006 season:
* SEC is 7-1 in BCS bowl games, Big Ten is 2-5.
* SEC has had 24 teams ranked in final USA Today coaches' poll, Big Ten has had 20.
* SEC has collected 23.2 percent of all points in the final AP Top 25 poll (leads nation), Big Ten has 16.5 percent (third).
* SEC has had 199 players drafted in NFL draft, Big Ten has had 164.
* SEC has had an average of 265 players on each year's opening weekend NFL rosters, Big Ten has had 226.
The Michigan State Spartans are 1-4 all-time against the SEC in bowl games:

The Alabama Crimson Tide is 4-3 all-time against the Big Ten in bowl games:
