Roddy White Tweets Apology to Falcons Fans for 'Horrible Performance'

Roddy White was back on Twitter, this time not to throw barbs, but rather to beg forgiveness.

The Atlanta wide receiver, who had a superb year, simply apologized to the Atlanta faithful for his team's 48-21 loss to the Packers.

"I want to apologize to all the Falcon fans for our horrible performance last night, it was not good and I'm sorry," he wrote in his Tweet.

White had a terrific season with 115 catches in 16 games, which set a franchise record. He started off strong against the Packers on Saturday night, but then the wheels came off, and the roof fell in on the whole Falcons ' operation.

White finished with six catches for 57 yards.

"You always think about your legacy and you're judged by what you do in the postseason," White told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution . "I haven't done anything yet."

White did plenty to help the Falcons this season. In addition to setting a new franchise record for receptions in a season, he set a team mark for yards receiving (1,389) and earned his third Pro-Bowl selection.

White was also named NFC Offensive Player of the Month, the first receiver to win the award since October of 2008.

Now it is time for the Falcons to help White. They could use a slot receiver, or a speedy split end to take some of the coverage away from him. The Falcons have receivers who are long-striders, but they could use a burner up the field. The second half of the season, wide receiver Michael Jenkins played well -- he is not the issue.

The Falcons have the 27th pick in the draft, but considering the devotion to the run, it's a safe bet that the Falcons try and grab an offensive lineman, or perhaps a fast linebacker to team with Sean Weatherspoon .
