The rivalry between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens is going strong. But Terrell Suggs has added fuel to the fire.
The Ravens’ linebacker, while talking to reporters last week, was seen sporting a t-shirt which said “Hey Pittsburgh” with an anthropomorphic raven giving the middle finger.
But he told the Baltimore Sun the shirt meant nothing. “There ain’t no message,” he said. “I put on for my city. They rep their city, and I’m repping mine.”
When asked about his feelings towards the Steelers, Suggs claimed he didn’t consider the team any more of a rivalry than any other.
“I don't have any more animosity, any more beef with any one team in the NFL,” he said. “It's just a rivalry game, a championship game, and let's go.”
However, other comments made earlier suggest he’s taking the game more seriously than he leads to believe.
On Monday Suggs told the media that the match against the Steelers was “World War III” and on Wednesday he stated that this game was considered “the real Super Bowl.”
The Steelers beat the Ravens on Saturday, 31-24.
