Coaching legends Bobby Bowden, Gene Stallings pick Auburn to win BCS National Championship Game

Coaching legends Bobby Bowden and Gene Stallings on who their pick to win the BCS title

Last Updated:

Legendary college football coaches Bobby Bowden and Gene Stallings participated in the Tostitos “Connect to Home Bowl,” a one-of-a-kind college football experience bringing our troops stationed overseas a taste of home for the holidays. The game was held at an undisclosed military base in the Persian Gulf. The unique bowl-game-inspired celebration, complete with all the game-day rituals, creates a chance for troops to play football with college football legends.

Coach Bowden and coach Stallings were at the helm of two unique teams composed of former college all-stars and active military heroes playing alongside one another as part of a one-of-a-kind flag football competition. Participation from college football greats, included Jim Kelly, Rodney Peete and Zach Thomas, among others.

Both coaches took time to talk about their incredible experience with the troops overseas. Bowden also addressed whether or not he missed coaching after stepping down after 34 seasons as head coach of the Florida State Seminoles in 2009.

Both coaches talk about who they think will win the National Championship game between Auburn and Oregon on January 10, 2011. Click on the link under video stories to watch the entire interview.
