As Michigan's Kid Rock prepares to launch his much-hyped “Born Free” tour, which kicks off Jan. 15 at Detroit's Ford Field, the singer is making sure he and his tattooed body are being seen by the masses.
After spending time over the New Year's holiday with a bikini-clad Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber, as well as Naomi Campbell, Kid will perform at 9 p.m. Wednesday on ABC as part of the 2011 People's Choice Awards .
He brings his tour to Grand Rapids' Van Andel Arena for a sold-out show on Jan. 25, after concerts Jan. 21-22 at Saginaw's Dow Events Center.
On Wednesday's People's Choice show, Diddy-Dirty Money and Selena Gomez & the Scene also will perform amid celebrity appearances by the likes of Elton John, Ashton Kutcher, the Kardashians, Teri Hatcher, Taylor Swift and others. Folks can still vote for their favorites at the People's Choice website .
Another Michigan product, hip-hop's Eminem, is up for favorite male artist. The “breakout” artist competition pits heartthrob Justin Bieber against B.o.B., Bruno Mars, Ke$ha and Selena Gomez & the Scene.
