have been the most successful team in baseball, being the only team in the league to make the playoffs every year since 2007. As a lifelong Phillies fan, it has been like a dream, and as someone who wears a lot of Phillies jerseys, it can be a real issue as to what player's jersey I will on any given day as this team has more stars than your local planetarium.

With that said, here is a list of the top five Phillies jerseys you should be considering as gifts for this holiday season for your favorite Phillies fan:
Cliff Lee(notes) - When Cliff Lee left the Phillies the first time, the town was absolutely devastated, if for no other reason than the fact that he was traded for a bunch of minor league nobodies, and the fans were sold a bill of goods that it wasn't done for monetary reasons. A season later, he re-signed as a free agent and everyone in town was holding up "Be-Lee-ve" signs. Wearing a#33 jerseyaround town is a quick way to get a high-five from a stranger, and since Lee returned to Philadelphia, no player has gotten more cheers. Even when he loses, the fans kind of give him a cheer that says, "It's OK, we'll get them next time."
Ryan Howard(notes) -Number 6has been the cornerstone of the franchise since he took over for Jim Thome(notes) in 2005 with six straight seasons of at least 100 RBIs, a record for the Phillies. While Howard takes some criticism for striking out too much amongst the fans, his overall production makes it easy to look past this flaw in his game (and he might not be the best fielder in the league, either, but that's true of a lot of elite hitters). Howard is coming off Achilles surgery, so next season could be an interesting one for his power numbers, but there will be more than enough fans that still go to Citizens Bank Park with the name Howard at the top of their jersey.
Chase Utley(notes) - Like Howard, Utley has been a key cog in the turnaround of the Phillies. A five-time All-Star, Utley has been the best second basemen in the National League since he arrived in Philadelphia, and the fans have been more than supportive. Even when he was injured last year, I would still guess there were more#26 jerseysaround town than any other number, as most people who have more than one Phillies jersey, at least one of them is an Utley.
Cole Hamels(notes) - In the storied history of the Phillies, there have been two World Series MVPs, and Hamels is the most recent. Even after a sub-par follow up year in 2009, many fans have given Hamels a pass based upon his 2008 postseason performance. The Phillies are currently working on a deal that will keep#35in red pinstripes for many years to come, so this is a jersey that should have a nice long shelf life.
Roy Halladay(notes) - In Philadelphia, there are two types of Halladay fans: the ones who think he is the best pitcher in baseball, and others who think he is the best Phillies pitcher of all time. Finding someone to talk bad about#34is nearly impossible in Philadelphia, as the worst thing people can say is he lost Game 5 of the NLDS against St. Louis because he let up an entire run. Up until 2010, when people would mention Doc in Philadelphia, they were always talking about Julius "Dr. J" Erving. Since Halladay arrived in town, there has only been one Doc, and he's the one who takes the mound every five days.
