Soil and water management seminar offers continuing education - My Web Times

Managing soils will be the focus of a soil and water management seminar sponsored by University of Illinois Extension Wednesday, Feb. 23.

The workshop will be at the University of Illinois Extension's La Salle County office, 1689 N. 31st Road, Suite 2, Ottawa. Presentations will be delivered via PowerPoint and teleconference from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"Those attending will learn about tillage and nutrient interactions, flood risk management, biomass crops and their effects on soil water and soil quality, and Gulf hypoxia and Illinois agriculture," said Duane Friend, Extension natural resources educator. Certified crop advisers can receive up to four and a half continuing education units in soil and water management by attending.
