Western Pocono Community Library is sponsoring a bus trip to Lancaster's Sight and Sound Millennium Theater on April 5 to see "Joseph" in its final season on the East Coast.
The bus will leave Western Pocono Community Library at 2000 Pilgrim Way in Brodheadsville at 10 a.m. Patrons are encouraged to take a bagged lunch and drink with you to eat on the way. Show starts at 1 p.m. After the show , it's dinner at Shady Maple Smorgasbord for dinner, arriving back at the library around 8 p.m.

Salem United Church of Christ, Route 209 and Gilbert Road, Gilbert will hold a Chicken Strip and Fish Dinner today from 4 to 7 p.m. The menu will consist of chicken strips and fish, french fries or baked potato, salad or cole slaw, dessert and beverage. Waggin' Tails Pet Rescue in Brodheadsville is hosting an all-you-can-eat breakfast on Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the American Legion, Route 209 Gilbert. Breakfast includes eggs, French toast, bacon, sausage, tea, coffee, apple and orange juice and more/ The cost is $7 adults, $5 kids 5 to 12, kids under 4 are free!

The Coaches vs. Coaches fundraising basketball game on Saturday at the Pleasant Valley Middle School benefits the Pleasant Valley Youth Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in honor of Shaelyn West, PVYA player and current Lady Bear.
Cost is $5 per person (children 5 and under are free). Doors open at 5:30 p.m. JDRF recognition and team introductions begin at 6 p.m. Tip off is at 6:30 p.m.
This is PVYA basketball's major fundraiser for the season. There will be food, prizes, half court shot contest, knock out games, raffles and a first-time poster contest in which teams design a poster to cheer on their coach.
The AARP driver safety class will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Chestnuthill Park Building, Route 715 in Brodheadsville. This class is open only to those who have taken an eight-hour class previously.
Taking this class may qualify under Pennsylvania Department of Transportation regulations to obtain a minimum 5 percent discount for participants on their auto insurance premiums for three years. Fees are: $12 for AARP members; $14 for nonmembers). Check with your agent for qualifications.

The Young at Heart Seniors will meet in the Polk Township Fire Company meeting room at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday to review the 2011 meeting schedule and planning trips.
