President’s Day Sales Rival Black Friday Deals

Many major retailers, including home improvement and department stores, are having great President’s Day sales. In most cases these special sales are the best that have been offered to shoppers since Black Friday, and the majority of these deals are available both in-store and online.

Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) has marked down select footwear for men, women and children by up to 70%. Select handbags and related accessories have also been reduced by up to 70% by Amazon.

Sears (NASDAQ:SHLD) has advertised 30% off all Kenmore appliances and 15% off all other major appliance brands. Sears’ Craftsman lawn and garden equipment is also 20% off.

JCPenney (NYSE:JCP) has slashed all furniture and mattress prices by 50%. New items have also been added to JCPenney’s clearance section with discounts of 50%-70% off and final discounts of 80% off on select items.

Macy’s (NYSE:M) has reduced select name brand mattress sets up to 50% off. Luggage is also half off, and fine jewelry is marked down 30%-50% off. Designer brand women’s coats are also deeply discounted.

Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) has advertised savings of up to 30% off desktop computers, laptops and monitors with free shipping.

Target (NYSE:TGT) is offering deep discounts on electronics including TVs, cameras, GPS systems and computers.

HP.com (NYSE:HPQ) has up to 50% off all items store-wide, plus free shipping on PCs.

Last but not least is The Home Depot (NYSE:HD). The Home Depot is advertising President’s Day sales on overstock items, with up to 60% off select kitchen faucets, 70% off indoor lighting, 20% off generators and up to 50% off select cordless power tools.

For shoppers seeking the best bargains, now may be the time to act. It may some time before we see sales that match or surpass those advertised for President’s Day.
