Eagles Tame Tigers 4-0

WATERFORD--- Lakeland sophomore goalie Trevor Kalinowski turned away 21 Fenton shots for the shutout.

Lakeland and Fenton faced off Friday night at Lakeland arena. Kyle Zunich opened the scoring from Nate Friend and Connor Risi with 2:04 left in the opening period.

Fenton came out strong to start the 2nd period, but Lakeland took control and Jordan Blanzy scored at the 13:30 mark of the 2nd. Tyler Mesclier and Evan Ronayne assisted on the goal. Sam Brooks scored 29 seconds later off a Kevin Lechner pass. James Unsworth also assisted on the goal. Anthony Kobak would come out of the corner and put one past Fenton goalie Joe Foguth to put the Eagles up 4-0. Nick Kobak assisted on the goal.

Lakeland Coach Tim Ronayne said "We had a good 2nd period, we got a lot of traffic in front of their goalie". "Good individual efforts from certain players, but we need everyone to get on the same page". "Our  goalie Kalinowski played well while earning the shutout, he didn't let them open the door".

Lakeland would tighten up their defense in the 3rd period holding Fenton to just 5 shots on net to preserve the shutout.

Lakeland out shot Fenton 29 - 21.

Foguth made 25 saves for the Tigers.

Lakeland is 7-7-3 overall.
